The Yearling by Marjorie K Rawlings

It is an interesting book that shows the relationship between a young boy and a young fawn that has lost its mother.

The mother died because Jody's father was bitten by a rattlesnake and he shots the doe so that he can use its liver to draw out the poison.

It is a good but sad book.
